Serious question, did I waste $60 on a bench scraper or is it just me?
Bought a fancy wide bench scraper for $60 at a restaurant supply store in Chicago last winter because the guy behind the counter swore it would change how I prep. Turns out I use it for everything now, scraping down my station, scooping up diced onions, even cutting cold butter into cubes without smashing it flat. My old cheap one is still in the drawer and I keep grabbing the new one without thinking. Anybody else got a tool that cost more than it should and quietly became the first thing you reach for?
