Rant: I was wrong about gas station tacos in Portland
I always figured gas station food was a gamble you lose, but a buddy at work kept raving about the place on 82nd and Division. He said the al pastor is marinated overnight, and the tortillas are hand pressed every morning. Finally caved and got two tacos for $5.50, and honestly they beat most sit down spots I've tried. Anyone else got a weird hidden spot that broke their rule of thumb?

Oh man, I love this! I saw a video last week where some food blogger was raving about a gas station in Texas that makes these insane barbacoa tacos on weekends only. She said they sell out by 9am and people line up before sunrise. It got me thinking, sometimes the best stuff is hiding in plain sight. I still haven't got the guts to try the one by my place, but your post is pushing me closer. Also, that price for two tacos is a steal these days. Most food carts want like 6 bucks for one taco now.
