Refurbished mobo from eBay saved me $140, but the BIOS had a surprise
My 6 year old ASRock board died last month, so I grabbed a used one from an eBay seller in Ohio for $45 instead of the $185 new price. It posted fine, but the BIOS was locked with a supervisor password the seller never mentioned, and I spent 3 evenings trying jumpers and CMOS resets with zero luck before finding a free tool that dumped the chip. Have any of you had luck talking sellers into refunding part of the cost when they hide stuff like that?
