Wedge slipped on a stair nose and sent the whole roll sideways

Saturday morning in a split level in Tacoma, I was doing a curved staircase and my wedge popped out mid stretch. The carpet slid about 6 inches and bunched up under the nose, which threw off my pattern match on the third tread. I had to pull the entire section, re glue the nose, and re stretch from the landing, eating up almost 2 extra hours. It taught me to check my wedge placement on every single stair before pulling tension, no matter how rushed I am. Anyone else had a stair stretch go sideways on a curved run? How do you keep the roll from shifting when the angle fights you?
