Stopped my seams from puckering with a new approach.

Seeing the flat surface is a real win.

The part about the problem just moving to a different spot is key. Everyone talks about machine tension, but I stopped looking at the machine first. I started looking at the thread itself. If your thread is too heavy for the fabric, it will pull and pucker no matter how perfect your tension is. The bump just follows the thick thread. I had to swallow my pride and try a much finer thread, like a basic cotton sewing thread, even on thicker fabric. It felt wrong but it lay completely flat.

My buddy was fighting puckering on a quilt border for weeks. He messed with his machine settings forever with no luck at all. Switching to a lighter thread made it lay flat like magic.

Wait, you said "flat surface"... are you telling me you actually got the fabric completely flat with no bumps? Every time I try to fix puckering it just moves the problem to a different spot or leaves those little ripples. What did you even do differently?
