Dropped $300 on a Festool track saw attachment that didn't fit my rail

Bought a Festool track saw guide rail adapter last month for my Makita saw, figured it would be a simple upgrade for straight cuts on a big shelving job in Austin. Got it home, clamped it on, and the grooves sat 2mm off so every cut drifted once I got past 4 feet. Anyone else burned money on brand-specific accessories that should've been universal?
