Bought a $600 track saw and it finally made me quit fighting warped plywood

I fought with circular saws and straight edges for like 8 years. Last month I finally caved and grabbed a Makita track saw. The first cut I made on a sheet of 3/4 ply came out perfect - no chipping, no fighting the line, nothing. If you're still using clamps and a straightedge on cabinet grade stuff, just stop. Save up. Has anyone else had a tool purchase that actually made you mad you waited so long?

Honestly, did you try flipping the plywood over to cut on the good side when using a regular circular saw? That trick saved me from buying a track saw for way too long, but yeah once you use one you never go back.

Got a buddy who swears by that exact trick, @sagey69, and he said it worked fine for years until he tried a track saw at my place last fall. I read somewhere online that flipping the plywood works because the blade tearout is on the bottom, so you're basically hiding it against the good face. But I've also heard people say if your blade is even a little dull, that trick can make things worse on thicker plywood. Your mileage may vary depending on the blade quality, in my experience.
