I thought cover letters were a total waste until a recruiter in Baltimore actually read mine out loud
I always figured nobody reads those things, so I half-assed them for like 3 years and never got a single callback on maybe 40 applications. Then last month I wrote one that just told a short story about fixing a messed-up job for a client, and the hiring manager said it was the only one she finished. Has anyone else had a cover letter actually get them an interview, or was this just a fluke?
