A simple question I started asking in interviews got me better offers

I was getting lowball salary numbers for months. Then I read about asking 'What is the approved budget range for this position?' before stating my own number. I tried it last week and the hiring manager actually told me the top of their range was $15k higher than their initial offer. Has anyone else found a specific phrase that opens up the conversation like that?

Oh for sure! Honestly I learned that the hard way last year. Jumped into a project without asking enough questions first and it was a total mess. Tbh that first question can save you so much time and trouble. Always feels good when you see someone else doing it right.
