Why does nobody talk about the static risk with sensor cleaning?

I was cleaning a Sony A7 III sensor in my home shop last Tuesday, and a tiny static pop from my gloves pulled dust right back onto the wet swab. I had to redo the whole clean cycle three times before it was spotless. Anyone have a better anti-static method than the basic cotton gloves?

Tbh, I switched to nitrile gloves and a Zerostat anti-static gun, worked way better.

Wait, you're telling me your gloves were basically a tiny dust magnet? That's the worst kind of bad luck! I had a similar fight with static once and it felt like the sensor was just trolling me. Alex's Zerostat idea sounds solid, but honestly after my own mess I just started doing the whole clean in my bathroom with the shower running for a minute first. The steam in the air seems to kill the static dead.
