Spent 6 hours on a shutter that just needed a drop of oil
Went to fix a jammed shutter on a 70s SLR yesterday. Took the whole top plate off, checked the gears, cleaned everything, put it back together twice. Still sticking. Got annoyed and took a break. Looked at it one more time and saw the pivot pin was bone dry. One tiny drop of oil and it worked instantly. Six hours for something that basic. Anyone else ever chase a simple fix with a full teardown first?
