Shoutout to the old timer at the camera swap meet who changed my mind about lens fungus

He told me a little bit of haze is usually harmless and not worth the risk of scratching the coating trying to clean it, and after checking my own 50mm f1.4 that's been sitting for years, I think he was right.

Oh man, that old timer was totally right! I remember trying to "fix" a vintage 35mm lens I bought cheap, and I ended up scratching the coating so bad it looked like a foggy mirror. Haze is way better than my dumb attempt at cleaning. Now I just leave my lenses alone unless the fungus is literally crawling out the glass. Your mileage may vary of course, but I've stopped being a hero with a q-tip and it's saved me a lot of grief.
