PSA: heard a guy at the Columbus camera show say he cleans sensors with canned air, please don't do this
Was killing time at the Columbus Camera Show last Saturday and overheard a vendor telling a new kid that a $6 can of compressed air is all you need for a dirty sensor. Canned air spits propellant and can freeze the coating on your IR filter, and I have seen two 5D Mark IIIs come through with streaks from exactly that trick. If you are at a show and someone gives you that tip, walk away and spend the $40 on a proper rocket blower and swabs instead. Has anyone else run into this one at swap meets?
