Dropped a customer's Pentax K1000 on my bench in Des Moines, now the film advance is grinding

I was cleaning the light seals on a K1000 last Tuesday when my elbow caught the strap and it went off the bench onto the concrete floor. The film advance lever now grinds about a third of the way through the stroke and I can hear something scraping inside. Is this worth tearing down to check the spool gear, or should I just be honest with the guy and offer to replace the body?
