Question about that 30% figure from the FCC report on service calls
I was reading the FCC's 2024 broadband report last week and a number jumped out at me. It says about 30% of trouble tickets get closed without a truck ever rolling. That matches what I see. I run mostly business drops around Tampa and half my day is redoing work some phone tech cleared from a desk. Last Tuesday I hit a strip mall on Dale Mabry where the modem kept dropping. The last ticket said no fault found. I found a splitter with a cracked port and a barrel connector so loose it spun free. Took me 12 minutes with a toner and a new 2 way. So here's my thing. If remote tools are so good, why do I keep finding physical junk on calls that got marked resolved? Do you push back when dispatch hands you a ticket like that, or just eat the time?
