A customer's complaint taught me to strip less
Last month a lady in Denton told me my cable ends looked "sloppy" after I left. I was annoyed at first, but I went back and looked at my work. I was stripping about an inch of sheath instead of the half inch the connector needs. That extra slack let the braid bunch up under the compression ring. I measured the next 15 ends with a caliper and fixed my method. Took maybe 10 extra minutes per job, but she sent me a referral to her neighbor. Anybody else had a customer point out a dumb habit you didn't notice?

A half inch of extra cable sheath sounds like a pretty minor thing to fuss over.
