My old boss in Detroit swore by zip ties, and I finally realized he was wrong after 40 minutes of cursing
Every rack I built at my first shop in Detroit got the zip tie treatment because my boss said they were cheap and held tight. Last week I spent 40 minutes cutting through 60 of them just to swap one patch cable in a client's closet, nicking two Cat6 runs in the process. Now I only use hook and loop straps, and I am never going back to those plastic handcuffs. Anyone else get burned by zip tie advice, or am I the only one who took this long to see it?
