Soft-close slides install vs the cheap ones, never again

I redid a 12-door kitchen in Austin with those $8 euro slides from the big box store, fought with them for two days straight. Then I tried Blum under-mounts on the next job, took me maybe 3 hours for the whole set. The difference is the self-closing catch, those cheap ones just don't have the right tolerance. Anyone else made that switch and felt dumb for not doing it sooner?

Shane's right, but calling it a two-day waste over $8 slides seems like a bit much.

Honestly some cheap slides work fine if you shim the mounting holes right, most folks just install them wrong.
