Ran a test spray of shellac over a Minwax stain and watched it bead up in front of me
Thinned the shellac to a 1 lb cut on a scrap and the whole thing flashed white and stayed tacky for 40 minutes, so please tell me someone else has gotten away with dewaxed shellac on a fresh oil stain or if I need to strip this door back down and start over with a coat of sealcoat.

Wait, was your shellac already dewaxed? That's the part that matters.
