Appreciation post: my dad's old dado stack taught me more about drawer boxes than any jig
Stopped by my parents' place in Boise two weeks ago and my dad handed me his old dado stack from the 80s he never used. I set it up in my shop just to mess around and cut a drawer box with it. Cleaner joint than my $200 router jig. Not even close. The stack takes a bit longer to set up but the bottom of the groove comes out dead flat. My router always left a little ridge I had to scrape. Anyone else still running a dado stack over a router for drawer boxes, or am I just late to the party?
