The seller's agent at this house in Mesa pulled a fast one on us last Tuesday and I'm still mad
We put in an offer on a place off Brown Road in Mesa last Tuesday, and the listing agent kept stalling us for two days on a simple counter. Turns out she was holding our offer in her back pocket while she shopped it around to other buyers to squeeze out a bidding war. We only found out because our agent heard it from a lender who saw the same paperwork go out three times. We walked, but we lost $450 on the inspection we had already scheduled. If a listing agent goes quiet for more than 24 hours in this market, that is your sign something weird is going on. Has anyone else caught a seller's agent playing games like this, and how did you handle it?
Do you actually know for sure she was shopping it around though? Lenders see paperwork fly back and forth all the time and it doesn't always mean what it looks like. Two days of silence is annoying but I'd want more than a rumor before I blame the listing agent.
