Found out my $30 boots outlasted my $180 pair, and now I'm rethinking everything
I was cleaning out my closet last week and found a beat up pair of boots I bought for $30 at a flea market in Denver about 6 years ago. I wore those things through two jobs, three winters, and a move, and they still have tread left on the soles. Meanwhile the $180 pair I bought two years ago from a big brand name already has a split seam and the leather is peeling. I looked up the brand on the cheap ones and turns out they were made by a small shop that closed down in 2019. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I've been paying for labels this whole time instead of actual build quality. Has anyone else had a cheap pair of boots completely outlast the expensive ones? I want to know if this is a fluke or if I'm just bad at picking boots.
