That $300 sausage stuffer was a complete rip off, stick with the manual one

Picked up an electric stuffer from a supply house in Portland last spring thinking it would save me hours on my weekly batch of brats and kielbasa. First run, it blew the internal gears on the second casing. Warranty covered it, but the replacement did the same thing 3 weeks later. Tried to adjust the speed, used smaller tubes, everything. The motor just has no torque for anything besides breakfast links. My old hand crank stuffer never broke down in 12 years, and honestly it only takes me an extra 20 minutes on a 25 pound batch. Ended up eating the cost on the third one failing out of warranty. If you do 10 pounds or less a month, save your cash. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific electric brand, or is this just how it goes?
