Appreciation post: the little rubber band trick that stopped my USB-C cable from falling out of my phone
My phone kept dropping the charge whenever I moved it, and I was about to order a new cable when I noticed the port itself was loose, not the plug. A guy on a repair forum said to wrap a tiny rubber band around the base of the connector before pushing it in, and I tried it with one of those little hair ties my daughter leaves everywhere. It added just enough thickness to keep the plug seated, and the phone has held a solid charge for two weeks straight now. It's not a real fix for a worn port, but it bought me time until I can get it replaced. Has anyone else had luck with this, or should I just stop being stubborn and swap the port out?
