Warning: I picked fiber over cable for my print shop and the install took 3 weeks longer than promised
When I moved my print shop to a bigger spot in Akron last fall, the two options were a 500 Mbps cable plan for $89 a month or 300 Mbps fiber for $129. I went with fiber since we upload big print files all day and the upload speed on cable was only 20 Mbps. The catch was the construction crew had to pull new line to the building, and what they quoted as 10 business days turned into almost 5 weeks. We ran the whole shop off a mobile hotspot that month, which cost me about $140 extra and dropped two client uploads mid-job. The fiber has been rock solid since, no outages in 7 months, but I wish someone had warned me about the build out timeline. Has anyone here negotiated a credit from the provider when the install ran long like that?
