Switched our shop from DSL to a $70 business fiber plan and the difference is night and day
We ran on DSL at the shop for 6 years because it was cheap and I figured "good enough." Last month I finally caved and got a business fiber line installed, 500/500 for $70 a month, and my guys can actually upload invoices and job photos without the whole office grinding to a halt. The DSL was costing us maybe $45 but we were losing way more in wasted time waiting on files to drag through. Two weeks in and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. What's the going rate for business fiber in your area? I want to know if I got a fair deal.
$70 for 500/500 sounds steep to me man, plenty of areas got gig fiber for less than that now. And DSL being "good enough" for 6 years kinda proves it was, so the upgrade might just be a want and not a need. Give it a year before you call it a steal.
