The ongoing debate: premade vs. handmade habit trackers in your journal
I've been going back and forth on whether premade habit tracker layouts save time or if the act of drawing them by hand actually makes me more consistent. This month I tried a printed insert and only stuck with it for 10 days, but last month my hand-drawn version lasted the full 30. Anyone else feel like the effort of making it yourself is part of what keeps you committed?

Isn't the whole point of a habit tracker to actually see the work you put in, not just check a box? Drawing those lines every month forces you to sit with the commitment before you even start tracking. Maybe the extra effort is the feature, not a bug.

The 3 minute time limit I set for myself to sketch out a monthly tracker actually became my favorite part because it forced me to clarify my top 3 priorities before anything else. That small ritual tells your brain this matters more than just another app notification. So you're right, the extra effort might be exactly what makes the habit stick.
