Just read that the original bullet journal method was designed to be done with a simple pen and any notebook, not the fancy spreads you see everywhere.
I found this out in an old interview with Ryder Carroll, and it makes me wonder if anyone else feels pressure to make their journal look perfect instead of just using it.

Bull, I love that the internet took bullet journaling and made it an art form. The whole point of the OG method was to track shit and be productive, but now it's a creative outlet for people who'd never pick up a sketchbook otherwise. All those fancy spreads with washi tape and hand lettering? That takes discipline and practice, not just mindless note taking. If someone wants to spend an hour making their weekly spread look like a magazine cover, more power to them. The internet didn't ruin anything, it just gave people more ways to enjoy the damn thing.

Ever feel like the internet ruined a good thing?

My friend's band used to play for a packed local bar every Friday, maybe 80 people. Now the same show gets posted online and they argue with strangers about the setlist instead of just enjoying the night. It really makes me agree with @nancys90, that constant online noise can strip the fun right out of something simple.
