My $12 mesh cable tray beat a $80 rack for my media PC

I spent last month building a small SFF rig for the living room and bought one of those fancy horizontal rack mounts to hide all the HDMI and power cables. Then I realize the tray wouldn't fit because of the way my TV stand has that center brace. Grabbed a mesh under-desk tray from the hardware store in Austin for $12, zip tied it to the bottom shelf, and everything sits flat and hidden. The cables route cleaner, the airflow is better since nothing's squished, and it took me 20 minutes instead of the whole afternoon I spent on the rack. Anyone else found that simpler and cheaper cable management wins over the over-engineered stuff?
