Update: my $18 auto-pay gym charge hit twice in March and my grocery money was gone
I was sitting at my kitchen table in Dayton on the 3rd going over my budget sheet when I saw two $18 drafts from the same gym on the same day. That second one pushed my grocery envelope down to $6.43 with nine days left in the month, so I called the gym and the bank back to back. Bank said it could take 10 business days to reverse, so I asked them to flag any repeat draft from that merchant and cooked rice and beans for a week. Got the $18 back on day 8, and now I check my account every Monday morning before I plan anything. Has anyone found a free app that pings you within a day when the same charge hits twice?

Same thing happened to me in February with a $12 Spotify charge that posted twice on a Tuesday, and my card got hit again for a $9 one from a food app I never even use. I just set up text alerts on my bank app for anything over $5, takes two minutes and pings me same day.
