My cousin in Omaha got me to try the grocery store breakfast instead of the hotel one, saved $68 over 4 days
Last week my cousin Dana came back from a trip to Omaha and we got to talking about food costs on the road. She mentioned she skips the hotel breakfast buffet every time and just hits a local grocery store instead, because the hotel marks it way up. I did the math on my next trip and figured out I could eat for about $4 a morning at a store versus $21 at the hotel. That is $68 saved over 4 days for me and my wife, just on breakfast alone. The weird part is the grocery food tasted better and I got to walk around a new neighborhood. Has anyone else tried skipping the hotel breakfast and going the grocery route?
