Spent 8 hours chasing an electrical gremlin in my 1990 Miata - it was a 50 cent relay
Pulling my hair out for a whole Saturday on a no-start condition in my budget track car, tested everything from the fuel pump to the ECU grounds. Turns out the main EFI relay was just dead, swapped it in 2 minutes and it fired right up. Anyone else waste a whole day on something that ended up being dirt cheap to fix?
Honestly, that feeling of relief mixed with annoyance is the worst. Ngl, I spent a whole weekend chasing a weird stumble on my old 240sx, replaced the MAF, cleaned the IACV, checked every vacuum line twice. Turned out it was just a cracked intake boot that cost me twelve bucks at the parts store. Tbh, it's always the simple stuff that makes you question your entire life as a mechanic.
