Half the guys there said any $40 wrench is fine for a weekend car and the other half said cheap tools cost you a motor, so where do you draw the line on used tool buys?
Head bolts?? That thing snapped on a head bolt and you're still walking around to tell it? That's the one spot where a bad wrench can really mess up your day.
Half those guys saying a $40 wrench is fine have never had to pull a motor because of it. My rule is simple: if I can't put a load on it before I pay, I walk.
