Vent: my $6 shelf liner project turned into a 4 hour fight with one crooked wall
I measured the bathroom shelf twice, cut the contact paper, and stuck it down in about 10 minutes flat. Turns out the back wall in my 1950s rental is off by almost half an inch from one end to the other, so the paper bunched up and peeled at the corner every single time. I pulled it up and re-cut it 3 more times, then finally traced the wall gap onto cardboard and used that as a template. Four hours later it looks great, but next time I'm checking for crooked walls in the first 5 minutes. Has anyone else run into weird wall angles in an old house and found a faster way?
