Vent: My $80 Crockpot died right before a big family dinner
Last Sunday I had 14 people coming over for pulled pork and my slow cooker just stopped heating about 2 hours in. I had already put the pork shoulder in at 7am and by noon the house smelled great but the meat was still raw in the middle. I ended up rushing everything into my big stockpot and finishing it on the stove over 3 burners, which actually worked but made a huge mess. Has anyone else had a appliance fail at the worst possible time and what did you do to save the meal?
Did your oven ever die in the middle of cooking for a crowd? My microwave quit on Thanksgiving one year while I was reheating everything, so I had to warm up side dishes in batches on the stove and it took forever. Tbh it worked out fine in the end but I learned to keep a backup plan for big meals.
