My buddy said my beans and rice was boring, so I started frying the leftovers in a $3 pan
He wasn't wrong, plain beans and rice got old by Wednesday, but now I crisp up the cold leftovers with an onion and a little oil and it's a whole new meal for like 40 cents. Anyone else got a cheap trick for making the same pot of food feel different by day three?
Man I feel this in my soul. By day three I'm just eating cold beans straight from the pot standing at the counter like some kind of animal. What's worked for me is turning the leftovers into a sort of patty situation, mash the beans and rice together with some breadcrumbs or crushed crackers, fry them up crispy, and suddenly it's like a whole different thing. Also a fried egg on top fixes almost anything if you ask me.
