Pro tip: the white cable on my treadmill died mid run at 6.2 mph
Halfway through a Tuesday night run the display just went black and I smelled hot plastic. Has anyone found a decent replacement cord for an old ProForm, or am I better off just taping the thing and running outside?

The white cable died at 6.2 mph? That is some seriously bad luck right there. Of all the times for a cord to give out, mid sprint on a Tuesday night is just cruel. And the hot plastic smell means something melted inside, not just a loose wire you can wiggle back to life. Taping it sounds tempting but if that cord already burned up once, it is going to do it again, probably when you least want it to. For an old ProForm you can usually find the power cord online for cheap, just match the plug shape and the amp rating on the old one.
