Just realized the 'cheap' HDMI cable advice from my brother in law cost me 3 hours and a $180 receiver repair
He swore the $8 Amazon Basics cable was just as good as the $40 one, but after my 4K TV kept dropping signal every 10 minutes during the Chiefs game last Sunday, I opened the case and found the connector was loose enough to wiggle side to side, so now I only buy cables with metal housing and a locking tab, has anyone else had a cheap cable actually damage a port?
