A USB cable in my junk drawer has a 1980s copyright date stamped on the connector
I was digging for a spare mini USB last week and noticed tiny text on the plastic housing that reads 1987, which means that cord is older than half the people reading this. It still charges my old MP3 player fine, so I want to know why the six month old cables I buy now die if I look at them wrong. Anyone else got a cord from the 80s or 90s that outlived everything newer?
