Turns out my grandpa's $6 hose clamp trick beats every fancy tool I own
My grandpa came by my garage in Dayton last Saturday to look at the crusty brake lines on my 1998 Civic, and I was about to drive to the parts store for a flaring tool. He pulled a hose clamp and a scrap of rubber out of his pocket, wrapped it around the line, and squeezed it down with a screwdriver, saying "you don't need the fancy kit to get it home." That thing held all week with zero drips while I saved up $40 for the real tool. Anyone else got an old-school trick that made them put down the wallet?
