TIL my mortar mix was too wet for 2 years, what tipped you off to your own bad habit?
I only figured it out when a mason I subbed for in Daytona pointed out my joints were slumping before I even struck them, so now I'm wondering who else found out they'd been doing something basic backwards and what finally made it click for you?
Funny how that works. Most of the time we keep doing something wrong because nobody ever takes the time to show us the right way, we just assume we've got it figured out. Kind of like how I cooked rice for years with too much water, thought it was supposed to be mushy, until my sister-in-law finally said something. Sometimes it just takes one person who knows better to watch you and point out the obvious, and then you can't unsee it.
