TIL that a guy at the Chicago Botanic Garden said liverworts were the first plants on land, not moss
I always figured moss came first, so hearing a volunteer say liverworts beat them by like 50 million years sent me down a rabbit hole on non-vascular plants, and now I'm wondering if anyone here has actually tried growing liverworts on purpose?

Guess growing liverworts makes sense if you want the oldest, ugliest lawn on the block.
