My moisture meter gave false readings for 3 weeks, nearly killed my fiddle leaf fig
I checked soil with that cheap probe every other day and it said dry, so I watered constantly, but the roots were rotting the whole time near Vancouver until the leaves dropped and a friend told me to just stick my finger in the dirt, has anyone else ditched gadgets for the old hand test?

Man, that's such a classic trap. We trust the little gadgets way too much even when our gut says something's off. It's like we'd rather believe a cheap tool than our own hands sometimes, and then we're surprised when it backfires.
