My favorite monstera snapped in half during a random storm Tuesday

The wind in Portland hit 40 mph out of nowhere and took down my 6 foot monstera that I'd grown for 3 years. It cracked clean at the main stem, so I chopped the broken part into 3 cuttings with rooting hormone and stuck them in water. The stump is already pushing out a new leaf, but the cuttings are being stubborn. Has anyone else had luck rehabbing a big split like this, or should I just start over?

Did you keep any of the old leaves on those cuttings, or strip them all off before rooting?
