Counted 47 different plants crammed on my one windowsill last night and I think I finally get why people collect
I always rolled my eyes at the folks in my local plant swap group in Sacramento who kept spreadsheets of their collections, but when I actually lined mine up to repot them I counted 47 and had no idea it had gotten that high. What changed my mind was realizing each one came from a cutting a real person handed me, not some shopping spree, so the number felt less like clutter and more like a map of everyone who helped me keep things alive. Does anyone else keep a running list, or do you just eyeball it and hope for the best when winter rolls around?
