Hot take: the guy who checks hotel mattresses for bed bugs makes more than I do
Was chatting with a guest at my cousin's wedding in Kansas City and he mentioned his job is inspecting hotel rooms before guests check in. I figured it was minimum wage stuff, but he told me he pulls around $70k in a good year because he's certified and travels to about 15 properties a month. Never once crossed my mind that "bed bug inspector" was a real job title with real money behind it. Anyone else stumbled on a weird niche job that pays way more than it sounds?
