The two-inch spine on my old dictionary is testing my patience
I'm binding an old dictionary with a really thick spine. The acid-free glue I use needs at least 72 hours to set properly. Ngl, I'm tempted to check it early every time. What tricks do you use to keep from messing with a project during long waits?

Actually, if I hid it I'd just obsess about it more! My trick is to leave it right out in the open but start another simple project at the other end of the workspace.

Oh, I feel your pain! I always hide the project in a closet so I'm not tempted to peek.

Oh man, hiding it would drive me nuts! I'm with John on this one. If I put it away, I just fixate on it. My move is to cover it with a clean towel or put a big book on top. Out of sight on the table, but with a physical barrier so I'm not staring at the spine. Then I'll clean my tools or organize paper, something boring that keeps my hands busy.
