My first solo rebind was a mess until a guy at the Asheville book fair showed me the trick with the spine
I brought my sad little rebind of a beat up copy of The Hobbit to the Asheville book fair last Saturday and a guy at the binding table watched me fight with the spine for 20 minutes before he stepped in. He showed me that I was pulling the mull too tight and told me to let the text block relax into the case instead of forcing it, and my next 3 rebinds came out way cleaner. How do you all know when the spine is seated right before you glue it down?
