Watch out for that store copy of Spirit Island at my FLGS
I used to just grab whatever copy of a game was on the shelf and assume it was fine. Then last Thursday at Dragon's Den in Austin, I pulled down Spirit Island and found 12 missing tokens and a rulebook with coffee stains on half the pages. Now I check every box, feel every bag, and count the card decks before I even sit down. Has anyone else gotten burned by a beat-up demo copy that the shop didn't warn you about?
