Found out the average Netflix viewer taps out of a show at 2.5 episodes, and my own watch history backs it up
I was reading a story on a streaming blog last Tuesday and it mentioned that most viewers bail on a new series right around the 2.5 episode mark if it hasn't hooked them. That number hit hard because I went through my own watch history and counted 11 shows from this year alone that I ditched between episode 2 and 3. The weird part is a few of those, like the one about the chef in Chicago, got way better later and I never went back to find out. So now I'm wondering how many great shows I quit too early on and how many I stuck with way too long out of stubbornness. What's the longest you've pushed through a slow start before finally giving up?
